Having an elegant lifestyle is what this city of gold has always been known for. Luxurious places and a full spectrum of experiences in this lavish metropolis will surely make you want to stay longer.
One of Dubai’s luxurious hotels that has stood the test of time is the Le Meridien Dubai Hotel and Conference Centre, having been in the hospitality scene for more than 40 years. Nestled adjacent to Dubai International Airport (DXB), this 5-star business hotel is unlike any other in the cosmopolitan as it boasts of its massive land area of 15 hectares instead of a high rise building.
Their 589 rooms and suites offer a sweet escape from the busy downtown area, perfect for disconnecting temporarily from the ever eventful Dubai.
Ambience
Sophisticated and cozy, Le Meridien Dubai is proof that there is more to what meets the eye. A grand and spacious lobby welcomed us upon entering. The grandiose staircase at the center end of the lobby commands attention, not to mention the massive yet elegant chandelier that adorned its ceiling. The huge cylindrical shelf of decors is an eye catcher as well. The gold, brown and gray colors of the fixtures complement the contemporary design of the lobby.
We can’t help but notice also the mirrors on the upper part of its walls around the lobby as they give an illusion of more space. Le Meridien’s passion for art and architecture can be basically seen as gorgeous abstract pieces adorned its walls and the enormous pillars that slightly resemble those of Singapore’s Supertree Grove which undoubtedly add to the elegance and sophistication of the hotel.
Rooms
Following a quick hotel tour, we stayed in the Deluxe Guest Room which is very chic yet cozy and comfortable. A welcome beverage and a bowl of fruits were delivered for us to enjoy.
The room included a queen sized bed, chic sofa, ergonomic workstations with plug-in data ports and a flat screen television with international cable satellite which is perfect for a cozy movie night. Its contemporary furnishings will not make you think that the hotel has been standing for more than four decades already as it will indeed give you peaceful yet luxurious comfort and rest.
Free Wi-Fi, espresso machine with free water, coffee and tea are part of the standard amenities but guests can also pay for the snacks and beverages in the fridge which are part of the In-Room Menu.
The marble bathroom featured a separate bathtub and an isolated rainfall showerhead which is a delight to keep the rest of the space dry. The bath and bedroom’s lighting can be adjusted depending on one’s preference which provides a dramatic style. It’s an added score that the room has plug-in data ports too on each side of the bed which made charging phones easier.
All ground floor rooms have direct access to the garden and pool area which is a brilliant idea. Ours has direct access to the Courtyard pool with a swim-up bar which makes an ultimate resort experience. Most guests do not have to roam around the hotel while dripping wet from the pool as they make their way to their rooms – thanks to the direct pool access. You can still check out the pool and garden activities from inside your room through the floor to ceiling windows. The small patio outside the room is also great for a relaxed area to have an early morning sip of coffee.
Apart from the main building, the hotel features the addition of their Royal Club which offers the best and largest sophisticated rooms with complimentary club lounge. The building is separated from the main one and guests can be dropped off directly at its entrance. The Royal Club lobby boasts of its design and architecture which is notable.
On the contrary, distant cries of kids can be heard in the hallway of the main building from the inside of the room. Good thing the cries do not last that long.
Service
A hotel cannot be given 5 stars if service is also not at par. Le Meridien Dubai’s staff were friendly, well trained and attentive to our needs. The staff are all smiles and are easy to talk to. Their hospitality and kind gestures have made our stay easier, unforgettable and truly relaxing.
We were accordingly guided by the staff the next day on a hearty complimentary breakfast at Yalumba which offers a buffet of modern international cuisine.
Features
With Dubai being a food haven of international cuisines, Le Meridien Dubai is a hidden gem for foodies with its whopping selection of 18 restaurants – quite a number of choices for a hotel. Guests can enjoy a diverse selection of upscale restaurants ranging from Japanese, Spanish to Italian and a whole lot more. Spa and Fitness Centers are also offered where guests can explore a sanctuary of rejuvenation and fitness.
True to its name, Le Meridien Dubai Hotel and Conference Centre boasts of its exquisite meeting and event spots as it offers one of the newest and largest conference and banqueting facilities in Dubai. Their 25 meeting and event spaces include three ballrooms which is quite impressive. It’s actually wonderful that apart from the aesthetics of the hotel, they also focused on the functionality which is convenient for guests who are in town for quick meetings or for those who wish to celebrate weddings or social galas. Upholstered and leather chairs are strategically placed in the lobby, making it more private and comfortable to have a meeting of minds.
The hotel provides a perfect combination of comfort, leisure and business as it offers a mini summer paradise at the heart of Dubai with its variety of pools – Spa Pool, Courtyard Pool, Fitness Pool and Whirlpool.
To add, the hotel has 4 separate desks for the guests’ concerns which is a compassionate way of attending to their queries and needs – the Check-In desk, F&B desk, Concierge and the Tour Desk. The Tour desk can assist guests who would like to explore more of Dubai’s attractions which is a lot easier rather than stressing on finding deals online and arranging itinerary.
Location and Accessibility
The hotel’s prime location is undoubtedly convenient for those who are traveling as it is situated next door to Dubai International Airport (DXB). Should guests want a shopping spree in a nearby mall, a quick drive to City Centre Deira or the Dubai Festival City can be made. However, it isn’t all that close to the city’s attractions and beaches. They offer guests a complimentary two-way shuttle to Dubai Mall and La Mer along with drop off facilities to Terminal 1 and 3 of the airport, which is favorable. Cabs, on the other hand, are readily available or guests can opt to ask assistance too from the concierge for arranging transportation.
Overall, Le Meridien Dubai is not just an exquisite venue for connecting people from around the world. It also serves as a luxurious paradise that can give you the utmost satisfaction of comfort and convenience while traveling the world in style.
